Terms and Conditions of the NOEWA 2024

1. Eligibility

1.1 To be eligible to enter the [Awards Name] (“the Awards”), businesses must have business premises located in Yorkshire or the North East of England. This includes the following areas/boroughs: South Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside, and Sunderland.

1.2 Businesses providing services from home within the specified regions are also eligible to enter the Awards.

1.3 Businesses must operate within one of the following wedding business categories:

Town & City Venue (Group or Independent), Countryside Venue (Group or Independent), Wedding Florist, Catering Business, Wedding Coordinator for a wedding venue, Cakes & Treats, Wedding Cars & Carriages, Wedding Stationery, DJ, Live Music Performer, 
Jeweller & Accessories Business, Wedding Photographer, Wedding Videographer, Health & Beauty Business, Photo Booth Business, Menswear, Bridal Gowns or Occasionwear, Venue Stylist, Entertainer, Other Miscellaneous Wedding Services that do not fit into another category, Registrar / Celebrant, OR New Wedding Business.

1.4 Businesses that do not fall into any specific category, such as gift companies, honeymoon services, or toastmasters, should enter under the “Wedding Services” category.

1.5 If two or more businesses of the same type enter, a separate category will be created for them.

1.6 To enter the “New Business” category, businesses must have commenced trading within 12 months of the date when registration for the Awards opened.

1.7 Only individual businesses may enter the Awards. Collaborations of businesses are not eligible. If a business operates multiple stores or outlets, each may enter separately, potentially competing with one another in the final round.

1.8 If only one business enters a particular category, that category may be merged with that of another region. If no entrants are received from other regions, the category may be closed, and the entrant moved into the “Wedding Services” category.

2. Participation

2.1 By participating in the Awards, businesses agree to be contacted and possibly visited by the judges for the purpose of evaluation.

2.2 Businesses may opt out of the Awards at any time by contacting the Awards organizers in writing.

2.3 Businesses are responsible for ensuring that all information provided during the nomination process is accurate. 

2.4 The Awards organizers rely on the information provided by nominees, and it is the responsibility of the nominated / entered business to notify the North of England Wedding Awards of any discrepancies including but not limited to Business Name, Business Details, Category, Web Address, Contact Information, Region, etc. Any amendments must be made before the nomination stage closes on the 05 June 2024. If a business has been nominated, it is their responsibility to verify the accuracy of the nomination information and to notify the Awards organizers of any discrepancies.

2.5 Judges of the Awards may conduct secret shopping visits or reviews of businesses entered or nominated. By participating in the Awards, businesses grant permission to the judges to review their business and details.

3. Disqualification

3.1 Businesses found to be deliberately providing incorrect information, votes, or nominations will be disqualified from the Awards.

3.2 All votes and nominations are vetted internally by the Awards organizers to ensure fairness and integrity.

4. Cost

4.1 The Awards are completely free to enter and participate in.

4.2 The only charge associated with the Awards is attendance at the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Centenary Pavilion in Leeds, with ticket prices announced closer to the event. Separate terms and conditions to the sale of the tickets.

5. General

5.1 These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the parties concerning the Awards and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.

5.2 These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.

5.3 Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.

By entering the Awards, businesses acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
